NOTE: ALL actors will be asked their vaccination status before auditioning.
[ABBIE] Female, 5 years old, white. That little girl who lives in the poor part of town with all the crappy apartments. A little shy, a bit awkward. Waiting for a visit from her father Chuck, who has recently been released from prison on a drug conviction. She’s a little nervous, and anxious to make a good impression on this guy who is basically a stranger to her. Not helping matters is the fact she can sense her mother is NOT happy about this visit. LEAD
[JESS] Female, Late 20s, white. Single mom, to Abbie and a baby boy. A bit worn out, but has done the best she can to make ends meet, crappy apartment or not. Pissed as hell that Chuck gets to have a visit with her daughter. LEAD
[CHUCK] Male, Late 20s, white. Rakish bad boy you hate to love, means well but always effs things up. Loves to be loved. Laughs a little too loud, drives a little too fast. Chuck has just gotten out of prison (on a drug charge) and has good intentions about spending some time with his little girl Abbie. But he has absolutely no parenting skills and his cavalier attitude and recklessness puts Abbie in danger. (Knowledge of how to drive a manual stick shift preferable) LEAD (Overscale available for NAME Talent)
[GRANDMA] Female, 50s, white. Chuck’s mother. Tries to calm Jess’s anger. Loves her son despite his many flaws. Enables him which isn’t good for anyone . SUPPORTING
[CALVIN] Male, 7 years old, Black. Neighbor kid who is friends with Abbie. He’s curious and funny. Super impressed by Chuck’s ride. SUPPORTING
[ALICE] Female, Early 30s, Black. Neighbor mom who is friends with Jess. Mom to Calvin, she is no nonsense and NOT having it. SUPPORTING
[BOY AND GIRL] Siblings, 5 to 6 years old, white. Very poor. Mountain trailer kids. Dirty and not well cared for, but they are happy playing together in the woods looking for worms. They make friends with Abbie. SUPPORTING
