PILGRIMAGE is a new full-length play about a group of Muslim American women who embark on a trip to Mecca to perform the Umrah, a minor pilgrimage. Noor is hiding a family secret and is desperate for absolution. Her CEO daughter Maryam is preoccupied with the legal and financial troubles of her tech startup, while her estranged nieces Nadia and Sosan are at each other’s throats over their mother’s death and inheritance. Meanwhile, Fatima, the young trip leader, a Muslim convert, struggles to keep the group together while hiding insecurities of her own. Can these five women come together in time to experience the spiritual transformation they seek, or will their past resentments, differences, and secrets pull them apart?
