strong male singers who can dance

Auditions for Theatre Nebula’s regional non-equity premier of SOMETHING ROTTEN for the role of the Minstrel/Minstrel Track in the show.

Traditionally, this role is played by a person of color, and we would like to carry on this tradition. Looking for strong male singers who can dance. Please send a video of you singing the attached music cut of “Welcome to the Renaissance.” Auditionees should sing the melody and minstrel lines through 155. After that, feel free to vocally improv over the course or sing the Minstrel part notated from 156.

If you also have a video clip of your dancing ability, we encourage you to send that, as well with your vocal clip, resume and headshot. Include a list of all conflicts for the rehearsal and performance period. Please send your materials with the subject line:

Your Name – SOMETHING ROTTEN – Minstrel Audition.

No pay. Rehearsals begin August 3rd, opening Saturday, September 25th, closing Sunday, October 24th, with the possibility to extend through Sunday, October 31st. Performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m.

Please be prepared to list all conflicts at auditions. Please note we will be unable to cast individuals who have a conflict with the mandatory tech week (see below).
