The Luckenbooth Theatre

multiple roles

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Rehearses June 15 – June 27 via Zoom*) chronicles the adventures of a young farm girl named Dorothy in the magical Land of OZ after she and her pet dog Toto are swept away from their Kansas home by a cyclone. The book is one of the best-known stories in American literature and the Library of Congress has declared it “America’s greatest and best-loved homegrown fairytale.” This new stage adaptation will kick off Phase 2 of Luckenbooth’s three phase reopening plan and will be filled with all your favorite characters from Oz. Please note that this is not the musical! This new stage adaptation celebrates the original author’s work by keeping as close to his original story as possible.

Those interested in auditioning should video a 1 minute comedic monologue and send to [email protected] Video submissions will be accepted through 1pm on June 14. Actors auditioning need to be 7 years of age or older. Casting will be completed the evening of June 14th so everyone is ready to start rehearsing on June 15th.

Rehearsals will be Monday – Saturday from 2pm to 4pm via Zoom. Keeping with safety regulations and preferences collected from our recent community survey, this production will either be live streamed via Zoom or recorded at the theatre and streamed On Demand to our patrons. The final decision will be made based on cast preference.

Actors under the age of 18 are asked to pay a $100 production fee. Our production fee follows the industry standard among top ranking theatres nationwide and covers all production materials for each actor, a professional headshot session with our company photographer, personal direction/coaching and experience working alongside industry professionals. Proceeds will also be put towards Luckenbooth’s bounce-back fund as they recover from financial losses due to Covid19 restrictions.
