Asian Story Theater is auditioning for one role in the upcoming THE GOLDEN RULE, a new play with music that is both interactive and true, set during the Gold Rush and the beginning of California.
KANAKA JACK (lead) is Hawaiian, Polynesian, or another Pacific Island heritage. Must be proficient on guitar or ukulele. Age flexible, 25-55 (script will be adjusted).
He came to California before the gold, then is swept up in the battle for statehood, gold madness, and dangerous politics. An honorable man who brought his culture with him, and is not afraid to embrace others’.
Stipend, Non union. Premiere at San Diego Fringe Festival early June 2022.
Zoom meetings in April, in-person rehearsals begin May 1 in San Diego.
