Casting a short scene for a Sundance Collab Online Directing class.

Audition Date: Monday July 6th
Shoot Date: Monday July 13th
Shoot Location: Bay Area
Union & Non Union actors welcome
Pay: No pay, but credit and copy will be provided for actor’s reels.

This project will observe the following safety regulations around Covid 19:
-Cast and Crew size will be less than 12 people
-Masks will be worn by crew at all times
-Talent will be required to wear a mask when not on camera
-Social Distancing of 6ft will be enforced
-Auditions and Rehearsals will take place via Zoom
-Antibacterial gel and hand washing stations will be available on set
-A general health survey will be required by all cast and crew and needs to be turned into the producer prior to being allowed on set.
-All craft services and meals on set will be individually packaged
-The set will be sanitized prior to actors’ arrival and also after wrap
-Producer will be Covid safety representative on set and will be versed in all precautions and measures needed

SCENE:
This scene takes place immediately after Jesse is offered an opportunity of a lifetime—and opening slot on an arena tour—and right after Blair puts down the initial payment on her classes.

CHARACTERS:
Jesse: Female (any ethnicity)26, a musician on the verge of quitting. She’s disappointed and disheartened by the industry, and is recovering from substance abuse problems she got from coping with the stress. While self-assured, she’s incapable of taking care of herself. Blair’s younger sister.

Blair: Female (any ethnicity)31, business school dropout. Left college to take over the family restaurant when her parent’s died. Took Jesse in when she decided to quit music. Blair wishes to go back to school to finish her degree, but needs Jesse’s help at the restaurant in order to do so.
