CASTING CALL: “DAYDREAMER”
This will be the final casting call for my independent feature film, “Daydreamer”. We’re now in week 7 of production and have filmed with several talented actors from this group, thank you to all who have submitted! There are 5 more roles we still need to fill. All shoots are in San Diego, non-union, all roles are paid.
MR. LUDCHENKO: Ludchenko is the property manager of an apartment building who hates confrontation. When a tenant mysteriously stops paying rent, he’s forced to work up the courage to evict him. However, it doesn’t go as planned. Character age 30-50, looking for someone with a unique look, who can play an awkward, nervous character. 1 day of filming, $150.
RUBY: Ruby is the mother of lead character Jeanine Sandoval, who died of cancer. We see Ruby in a flashback sequence during Jeanine’s dream, when she is delirious and near death. White woman, character age 70s, looking for someone on the thinner side to depict Ruby’s illness. 1 night of filming, $200.
BRANDY: Brandy is the sister of lead character Buddy, who becomes delusional and paranoid, and ends all contact with his family. Brandy visits Buddy at his apartment after he sends a tape recording to every member of his family describing his bizarre conspiracy theories and predicting his own death. She tries in vain to convince Buddy to seek psychological treatment. White woman, character age 25-35. 1 half day of filming, $150.
JESSICA: Jessica is a methamphetamine user in a delusional state of mind who encounters Buddy and has a conversation with him about his own conspiracy beliefs. Looking for an actor who can portray a convincing drug addict and go beyond the cliches. 1 half day of filming, $150.
