Hello, actors and filmmakers! I am an NYU graduate film student currently casting my thesis short film, shooting in San Diego April 28 – May 2. We are a non-union, fully-vaccinated production, currently searching to fill the four following roles:
RUZ MOJGARI [5 days]
(male, gay, Iranian-American, 18+ to play 15-17)
A timid teenager. Acts like he’s more relaxed than he ever really is and looks like he’s always thinking. Ruz thinks he might be falling in love with his best friend and is flirting with the idea of coming out to his mom the weekend his dad is away.
Role contains non-nude intimate scenes.
SOUDABEH MOJGARI [4 days]
(female, Iranian/Iranian-American, late 30s-late 40s)
A housewife and Iranian immigrant who performs her duties with a fussy sense of honor. An amazing cook and knows it. Soudabeh is realizing she has a son who is not quite who she hoped he would be – and she’s determined to help him change.
Farsi-speaking.
DIEGO RAMIREZ [1 day]
(male, bisexual, Hispanic/Latino American, 18+ to play 15-17)
A showman. The life of the party. Diego lost his virginity to a girl this summer, and after a drunken night with his best friend Ruz started hooking up with him, too. He just started wearing a chain necklace and thinks it looks great.
Role contains non-nude intimate scenes.
MEHDI MOJGARI [1 day]
(male, Iranian/Iranian-American, late 30s-late 40s)
A dutiful,religious, hard-working management engineer and Iranian immigrant. Away for the weekend, he missed his wife Soudabeh’s cooking at every meal.
Farsi-speaking.
