Maybe the most experienced of the group. Was naive at first, believed in the American Dream and all of her potential opportunities. Witnessed beatings, racially charged experiences, etc. She hopes to find peace by bringing the community together. Other notes: Cheryl-Ann’s Grandmother, friends with Maria because their husbands stationed together, friends with Rosario through church
Has an inferiority complex. Struggles with assimilation towards whiteness in order to feel like a worthy American, hates her Filipina features.
Other notes: Janica’s Godmother, friends with Teresa because Husbands stationed together, friends with Rosario through church
Jaded character who realizes the harsh reality of how the “American Dream” is unattainable. Other notes: Janica’s Mother, friends with Teresa and Maria through church
The “Ate” figure in the group. Understands the heavy responsibility of sacrificing your work for your family in order to give them a better life through money. Known as family-oriented and is willing to obey the standards placed on her. Other notes: Teresa’s Granddaughter, Janica’s close family friend
A revolutionary-type character; strong-willed, young, passionate about ending stereotypes and toxic generational behaviors. Outspoken. Always ready for a fight.
Other notes: Rosario’s Daughter, Maria’s Goddaughter, Cheryl-Ann’s close family friend
