Emergency Awesome Role Casting Notice: We’re doing the first-ever AEA staged reading of an original musical on March 25th and 26th at Stageworks. One of our leads just dropped out, and I need someone awesome right away. Rehearsals start this weekend.
Kishka is a lascivious Russian spy who poses as a gay-adored cabaret singer renowned for her fabulous belt voice. The role is a lead (two solos, several duets, and featured prominently in several group numbers). She is confident, loves being a spy and being a cabaret singer, and is often hilariously mean to the audience. She is happily working for the bad guys until the middle of the second act, when she has a crisis of morality and joins with the good guys to help save the world. It is a scene-and-show-stealing role of a lifetime. 30 to 45. For real color-blind casting. This is a paid gig, and a wildly-meaty role.
