SEEKING NON-UNION ACTORS, AGES 18+ TO PORTRAY:
IOANE – Mid 20s-30s (Hawaiian or Pacific Islander mix) Male. Pidgin speaker. Brother of Maile. Born and raised in Hawaiʻi. Mahiʻai, runs family business growing and selling Kalo. This is both a vital cultural practice for him and also his familyʻs sole source of income. Is hesitant to reconnect with Maile whoʻs disconnected from culture.
MAILE – Early to Late 20s (Hawaiian or Pacific Islander mix) Female. Sister of Ioane. Born in Hawaiʻi but raised California. Doesnʻt know too much about the culture except Californian-ized surf culture. Wants to reconnect and form relationship with Ioane.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
*Must be able to commute to UH Mānoa campus for all shoot dates
Shoot Dates:
SAT, MARCH 26th, 2022 & SUN, MARCH 27th, 2022
**This is UNPAID as it is a no budget student film for UHM. However, actors will be provided with meals & copy of the completed film.
