The following roles are open, and some actors may be cast in multiple roles.
(Roles of Julia, Holly, and Glen are already cast from our cancelled 2020 production)
ROBBIE HART – Rock Tenor, Vocal Range: B3-C6, Age Range 18-30. Strong singer. Ability to play guitar a plus. Great comedic timing. Basic movement. A musician and lead singer for a trio that plays for weddings. In love with love until Linda leaves him at the altar and breaks his heart. Very charismatic, yet insecure, with a “puppy dog” appeal.
SAMMY – Baritone, Vocal Range: C4 – A5, Age Range 20-30. Singer, ability to play bass a plus. Basic movement. Robbie’s friend and bassist for the trio, not terribly bright but means well and is supportive. Sammy is a typical man’s man, rock star wannabe, but beneath his pretending to love being a bachelor he is actually in love with Holly.
GEORGE – Baritone, Vocal Range: C4 – A5 (strong falsetto), Age Range 20-30. Strong character singer who can rap and has good falsetto. Plays keyboard for the trio. Boy George type. He is sensitive and somewhat flamboyant. The foil to Sammy's super guy attitude.
ROSIE – Mezzo Soprano that can rap, Vocal Range: C4 – C5, Age Range 40+. Must have great comic timing and a singing voice that suits both classic musical theatre and rap. Basic movement. Robbie’s grandmother who raised him. Motherly but adventurous and always trying to remain “hip” despite her age.
LINDA – Rock belt, Vocal Range: A3 – D5, Age Range 20-30. Strong belt voice and movement. Robbie’s fiancé who leaves him at the altar. Keeps Robbie around as a back-up plan. Is more in love with the idea of Robbie being a rock star than she actually is with Robbie.
