Summer Stage of Delafield

Males and Females 8-50

The auditions will be held BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on the following dates:
Monday, May 24, 6:30 – 9:00 pm
Tuesday, May 25, 6:30 – 9:00 pm
Wednesday, May 26, 6:30 pm (callbacks if needed)
by Larry Shue
Rehearsals: June 1 – July 14, 2021
Performances: July 15 – 17, 21 – 24, 28 – 31 at 7:30 pm (11 performances)
THE NERD will be directed by Dustin J. Martin. We are seeking 4 men (ages 25 – 50), 2 women (ages 30-50), and 1 boy (age 8 – 12).
SYNOPSIS: An architect in the middle of a mid-life crisis is visited by a man he’s never met but who saved his life in Vietnam. The visitor turns out to be an incredibly inept, hopelessly stupid “nerd” who outstays his welcome with a vengeance.
IMPORTANT: If you sign up and later find out that you will not be able to attend, please remove your sign up.
Auditions for the 2021 season will consist of readings from the script and will be held at the stage in the Lapham Peak Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
DIRECTIONS: Take I-94 to the Hwy C exit in Delafield (exit 285). Go south on Hwy C about one mile and the park entrance will be on your left. On your entry to the park, stop at the ranger station. If there is a ranger in the station, let them know you are there for SummerStage auditions and you’ll be permitted entry. Take the first right and follow it to the Evergreen parking lot. Park there and then follow the large trail to the east to the stage, which will be about a 300 yard walk.
Physical address: W329 N846, County Rd C, Delafield, WI 53018
1. Auditions will be held by appointment only in groups of no more than five people.
2. If feeling sick, please reschedule audition time.
3. Masks will be required while waiting to audition. If social distancing can be maintained, masks may be temporarily removed while auditioning.
Rehearsals will typically be between four and five times a week prior to the production. You must be available for all technical rehearsals and performances. Excessive conflicts may result in not being cast in the production.
Most rehearsals and all performances are held at our beautiful outdoor theater within Lapham Peak State Park in Delafield. If an alternate rehearsal location is needed, it will also be in the greater Delafield area.
COVID-19 guidelines for rehearsals and performances are still being finalized.
Contact Dustin J. Martin, Artistic Director, at [email protected] if you have any questions.
