racially diverse cast

MAS Theatre at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, in Tampa, Florida will be presenting on January 14-17, 2021 The Parchman Hour, by the multi-talented Mike Wiley.
We are honored to produce his beautifully written account of The Freedom Riders 1931 depicting when the original 13 stepped onto a bus in D.C. en route to Alabama, Mississippi then New Orleans. With moments of a 1960s variety show underscored with a down home church feel, this production takes a strong and poetic approach.
Looking to fill this production with a racially diverse cast of 13 actors (male and female) with the majority of the actors playing multiple roles, characters ranging in age from 19 – 40. All those cast must be 18 years old. There will be one or two rehearsals once a month starting in the Fall of 2020 and then regular rehearsals after the first of the year. There will also be an audience talk back with the Playwright, Mr. Wiley after the Opening Night performance.
To be considered, please forward your headshot and resume to. Put THE PARCHMAN HOUR in the subject line.
There will be a stipend to actors chosen.
