AUDITIONS ARE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8 for our Theatre for Young Audiences production of “Peter Pan’s Great Adventure.”
“Peter Pan’s Great Adventure” is an original musical by Chase Ramsey and David Paul Smith. It will be directed by Kathryn Laycock Little with choreography by Brodee Ripple. Danielle Berry will serve as stage manager.
“Peter Pan’s Great Adventure” will play at SCERA Center for the Arts October 18 – November 5, 2021 with 10:00 am matinees Monday through Friday for school groups and 7:00pm shows for the general public on Monday and Friday evenings.
The one-hour musical features ten roles for men and women, and is cast with all adult actors, although those 16 and older are encouraged to audition if their schedule for permits. Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 8 from 7-9pm.
Auditioners should prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song. An accompanist or aux cord is available. Please have your music cued or marked. Cast members must be available for morning weekday rehearsals and for all fifteen weekday morning matinees and all six evening performances. Rehearsals will begin on September 13, 2021. A more detailed schedule will be provided once casting is final.
Auditions are done by appointment, and you can register online and sign up for a time. We use Casting Manager. If this is your first time using Casting Manager, you will be asked to create an account, and upload a resume and headshot if you have them. If you don’t have a resume or headshot, there is space where you can add in your education, training, experience, shows, etc. However, if you are new to theatre and the audition process, don’t be intimidated…we welcome talented first-timers! If you are more comfortable, you can also submit a video audition in Casting Manager.
ABOUT THE SHOW: A musical adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s classic tale of the boy who could fly and never grew up! Wendy and her brothers Michael and John meet the infamous Peter Pan and fly to Neverland, where they literally find themselves in a bind – tied to the mast of Captain Hook’s ship with the misfit Lost Boys…and only Peter Pan can save them from Hook and his foolhardy and featherbrained bunch of pirates! With the book by Chase Ramsey and music and lyrics by David Paul Smith, this great adventure features energized audience participation, catchy new music, and magical themes of following your dreams, using your imagination and learning that life is the greatest adventure of them all.
