Art Park Players

The City of Deer Park Parks and Recreation Department and the Art Park Players will be holding auditions for its next production of URINETOWN THE MUSICAL by Greg Kotis and Mark Hollmann.
Auditions will be held on Monday, August 23rd beginning promptly at 7pm.
Prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. There will be NO accompanist. You must bring a CD with accompaniment, or have a digital file (flash drive/or mobile) provided it is edited and cued correctly. A résumé and 8”×10” headshot is requested, but not required. Please also wear or bring comfortable dance attire, as all who audition will be required to learn a short dance/movement combination.
Bring a list of all potential conflicts including travel, etc. Any conflicts with the posted schedule must be discussed with the creative team and agreed to by the Director before casting can be confirmed. URINETOWN will be directed by David Eck, musical direction by Alex Musgrove, choreography by Elsa Moen, and technical direction by Joe Piper.
Auditions will be held at the Theatre/Courts Building at 1302 Center Street, Deer Park, TX 77536.
Performances Dates:
October: 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, & 23
Callbacks will be on Tuesday, August 24th, and rehearsals will begin Monday, August 30th.
To be considered for all roles, you must be able to commit to all rehearsals during the tech weeks September 27th – through opening night on October 8th.

Officer Lockstock
The tongue-in-cheek narrator of our story, he is a corrupt policeman who secretly kills off the guilty offenders. Bold, brash, and larger than life in many ways.

Penelope Pennywise
The tough, jaded warden of the poorest, filthiest town urinal. She is Cladwell’s one-time lover and mother to Hope who eventually softens her temper.

Bobby Strong
The dashing, rebellious everyman who works for Miss Pennywise at the poorest, filthiest town urinal. He becomes an unsuspecting protagonist and romantic hero when he starts a revolution and falls in love with Hope Cladwell.

Cladwell’s ravishingly beautiful daughter, torn between her father and her new love for Bobby. She begins as an innocent, naive angel but becomes vengeful and determined after being exposed to her father’s evil.

Joseph “old Man” Strong
