actor or theater specialist
Santa Fe Community College is in need of an actor or theater specialist with a MASTERS DEGREE in acting or a related field to teach two courses for the fall: Intro to Theater (online) and Acting 1 (scheduled to be in person, but subject to change because of COVID-19).
Intro to Theater fulfills general education requirements as an arts elective, so usually has a diverse enrollment from various fields in the school. The course covers some history of acting/theater/television and appreciation and criticism of local or televised performances, There is also room for creativity in the area of specialization of the instructor. This course is also a great place to recruit students for Acting 1 and 2. (3 credit hours, 3 pay hours)
Acting 1 is a lab class primarily focused on the basics of acting, including preparation of scenes or monologues, improvisation, and other performance exercises. The class normally performs as part of a showcase of all performing arts classes at the end of the semester (any combination of ensemble or monologues adding up to approximately 30 minutes). (3 credit hours, 5 pay hours)
Pay is $717-727 per pay hour per semester.
