ACTORS: Casting for ultra-low-budget sci-fi short to be shot in mid/late August in Miramar at a green-screen studio.
A routine run for the crew of the cargo ship Oberon is imperiled when an unexpected disaster occurs. In the blink of an eye they find themselves stranded in deep space far from rescue and running out of time,… and that’s the good news.
Roles: 2 Female, 2 male (non-union, San Diego local actors preferred)
Female Lead – Ships mechanic – Adult (20 – 30) – Youthful, intelligent, mechanically inclined (looks comfortable handling tools), bit of a rebel.
Will be needed for 3-5 days. Must be willing to do a couple of mild stunts – falling onto foam landing mat, sliding down a ramp onto foam landing mat. Nothing dangerous, but the person should be active. (Ethnicity not important, diversity welcomed.)
Female – Ship Captain – Adult (40 -60 range) – Projects competence and gravitas.
Male – Ships pilot – Adult (30-40 range) – Light-hearted and slightly mischievous.
Male (or Female) – Ships doctor – Adult (30+) – Can project relaxed professionalism.
(These roles will likely be needed for one day only and may require 1 mild stunt – jumping at a foam padded surface. Ethnicity not important, diversity welcomed.)
There will be pay, but as an indie out-of-pocket, it won’t be scale.
Casting interviews will be held in the Miramar studio in late July early Aug until all roles are cast.
