PRODUCTION TYPE: Short Film (Independent – Non-Union)
PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION: “Still Bearing Strange Fruit” is a psychological thriller short film about a young man who finds himself stuck in confinement. He attempts to figure out why he’s being held captive before setting out to save his life.
Lead – Black/African American Male – Age Range: 25-35
Character Description: Daniel is an ambitious, strong and fearless young man, who after mysteriously waking up on the floor of an empty warehouse, is seeking answers and a way out.
Supporting – White/Caucasian Male – Age Range: 46-60
Character Description: The Man is a slick, manipulative & psychotic man, who won’t let go of his old ways. He forces Daniel into captivity and punishes him. The Man remains off-screen as he is hidden & unseen from sight during his time with Daniel.
PRODUCTION DATES, LOCATION & REHEARSAL INFORMATION: Shoots July 10-12 in the Houston, TX area. Must be able to work local to Houston. Rehearsals will be scheduled & held prior to production day. We would like to hold one Zoom rehearsal and one in-person rehearsal.
CORONAVIRUS SAFETY & HEALTH NOTICE: We are committed to having a safe & healthy environment on this production. In order to do so, PPE/face mask will be mandatory for cast and crew. And, sanitizer will be provided.
COMPENSATION: Unpaid. Meals & craft services provided.
