We are seeking an actor/musician for “The Midnight Catch-Up” by Angelo Lorenzo, a short play in a virtual arts festival, Talking It Out, which promotes mental health awareness and benefits the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Director Summer Dawn of In Full Color. This work has a major musical component, but is not a musical theater piece.
CONRAD – A care-free 16-year-old Filipino young man who is a childhood friend to Giselle; optimistic but aware of people’s feelings. Must be able to sing and play an instrument, guitar preferred. Ability to participate in musical improvisation or songwriting process preferred.
Filipino talent will be prioritized. Southeast Asian and other Asian folx are also welcome to submit.
Performance is Saturday, March 19 from 7 pm to 10 pm EST. Festival tech week is March 14 to 18 from 6 pm to 9 pm (exact schedule for short play TBD). Rehearsal schedule will be based on actor availability. We anticipate having 4-5 rehearsals about 1.5 hours long between Jan. 24 and March 14, in addition to tech and performance.
Festival will pay talent a portion of donations gathered during event.
