A Pulitzer Prize winning romantic comedy by Lanford Wilson. Directed by Joann Scanlon.
It’s July 4th, 1944, in a dilapidated boathouse, Lebanon, MO.
Matt and Sally both have secrets that weigh on and embarrass them. With encouragement, each offers the other a place of compassion and non-judgement so they are comfortable enough to reveal themselves.
Matt Friedman: 42, bearded Jewish accountant, desperately in love with Sally Talley. Good comic. Opens play with 3-page monologue.
Sally Talley: 31, feisty, conservative Protestant, still living at home. Fired from Sunday school teaching for encouraging students to read about the value of labor unions.
Sides will be provided. We look forward to seeing you!
