The Wayne at Wintergreen is proud to announce our first partnered production: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! The Wayne is committed to working with local/regional talent as well as theatre practitioners from all across the world. We are excited to bring live theatre to the Mountain.

The health and safety of our artists, crew and audiences is our primary concern. The Wayne at Wintergreen complies with all federal, state, and local mandates.
We are accepting OPEN virtual auditions for ALL ROLES.
Must be 16 years or older to audition (see children’s choir info below in casting breakdown).
Performers of all gender and racial identities are invited and encouraged to audition.
Artists from all areas will be considered, casting not limited to Virginia localities.
Please note: Some roles may involve wearing costumes that expose a large percentage of your skin, similar to swimsuit coverage.
Rehearsals will be indoors but performances will be outdoors at the Wintergreen Resort, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Audition Dates: Submissions are accepted now through Saturday, June 19 at 11:59pm.
Callbacks: Callbacks will be held in person at the Wayne Theatre in Waynesboro, VA on Tuesday, June 29 at 7:00pm.
Virtual options may be arranged, if necessary due to location.
Cast List Announced: On or about Tuesday, July 6
Rehearsal Dates: First rehearsal on or around August 1st.Lines and song lyrics should be memorized before first rehearsal.
Rehearsals will be held approximately five nights per week.
No conflicts accepted during Tech Week or Performances.
Tech Week: Performers should plan on being present at rehearsals each day the week prior to opening night, with full-day tech rehearsals that Saturday and Sunday. The artistic staff reserve the right to make adjustments to the tech schedule based on the needs of the production and the venue restrictions.
All adult actors will receive compensation for their work in this piece. Stipends will be determined based on casting, using a 3-tier scale:
Tier 1: Lead Roles (approx $2,200-$2,500) Tier 2: Featured Roles (approx $1,400-$1,800) Tier 3: Supporting Roles (approx $400-$600)
Narrator: (30’s –plus or minus)
Lead Female. Vocal Range – Soprano.
Joseph: (20-30’s) Lead Male. Vocal Range – Tenor.
Jacob (Joseph’s Father): (Over 50) Feature Role. Vocal Range – Baritone.
Brothers: (18 – 35) Feature/Supporting Roles. Vocal Range – Mixed Male Voices:
Brothers’ Wives: (18- 35) Supporting Roles. Vocal Range – Mixed Female Voices.
Pharaoh: (30-50) Feature Role. Vocal Range – Tenor/Baritone.
Potiphar: (40 and older) Feature Role. Vocal Range – Baritone.
Mrs. Potiphar: (20-40) Feature Role. Strong Dancer. Vocal Range – Alto/Mezzo.
Butler: (20 and older) Supporting Role. Vocal Range- Tenor/Baritone.
Baker: (20 and older) Supporting Role. Vocal Range – Tenor/Baritone.
Adult Ensemble: (16 and older) As needed.
