SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED!!
The City of Deer Park Parks and Recreation Department and The Art Park Players is accepting VIDEO SUBMISSIONS for their production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.
Submissions must be received no later than SUNDAY, May 9th. Callbacks will be held in-person on May 12th at 7:30pm. If invited to callbacks, you will be asked to sing, dance, and read sides from the show. Callbacks, Rehearsals and Performances will be held at the Theatre/Courts Building at 1302 Center Street, Deer Park, TX 77536.
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will be directed by David Eck, musical direction by Alex Musgrove, choreography by Keith Herrmann, and technical direction by Joe Piper.
Performances Dates:
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS – July 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25
Rehearsals will begin May 24th and are traditionally Mondays through Thursdays 7-10pm, and Saturdays 11am-2pm. There will be no Sunday rehearsals.
To be considered for all roles, you must be able to commit to all rehearsals during the tech weeks June 28th – through opening night on July 9th.
Instructions for Video Submissions:
  1. Prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show.
  2. Please slate at the beginning of your submission.
  3. Submissions should be filmed in Landscape mode.
  4. DO NOT email video submissions. They will not be opened. Your video should be uploaded to a file share platform (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, YouTube, or Vimeo) and include a link to the file to be reviewed.
  5. Please complete the audition form and email that, a Headshot (or current photo), and resume as an attachment back to [email protected]
  6. Please check the audio and video quality of your self tape before you submit. We want you to look and sound your best!
You will be contacted by Monday, May 10th if you are needed for callbacks.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
Seymour Krelborn (25-35) An insecure, put-upon florist’s clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills. Vocal range top: G4/Vocal range bottom: A2
Audrey (25-35) Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour’s life. She has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor. Vocal range top: D5/Vocal range bottom: G#3
Mr. Mushnik (55-65) The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour’s nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative. Vocal range top: F4/Vocal range bottom: G2
Orin Scrivello (30-45) An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey’s abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour. Vocal range top: G4/Vocal range bottom: G2 Seeking a strong actor with impeccable comedic timing. Ideally this person will also play Bernstein, Snip, Luce and everyone else…
Voice of the Plant
An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart ‘villain.’ A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best. Male or Female. Vocal range top: G4/Vocal range bottom: G2

The city of Deer Park continues to follow CDC Guidelines for our audiences. All audience members will be socially distanced, temperature checked upon entry, and are required to wear masks as well.
